Leveraging our experience with FRDAP grant funding of Florida parks and open spaces, Castle Bay was tasked with leading the site planning, conceptual design and full design development of a new interactive water feature (IWF) and park feature within the City of Starke’s most popular recreation complex. Through a series of conceptual designs and presentations to City Commission, Castle Bay ultimately provided a design which was not only unique in design to the City of Starke unlike any other typical splash pad but also within the grant budget parameters and requirements. Included within the final design is a terraced seating area, extensive shade opportunities through strategically placed clusters of native palm trees as well as fixed shade structures, full ADA accessibility throughout the entire space, furnishings and a low-maintenance native landscape.
