Bethune Point Park

An existing 20 acre public park on the shores of the Intracoastal Waterway, Bethune Point Park fell into deep disrepair over the years slowly losing all aspects of a safe and functional City park while essentially becoming only a local boat launch. The City of Daytona Beach, eager to continue on their mission of improving their public park spaces, once again retained the services of Castle Bay to conduct a multi-faceted approach to providing the City with a prescription to not only return this waterfront park to its former glory but to expand on the park amenities and infrastructure empowering Bethune Point Park to become a preeminent athletic and recreation destination. Castle Bay began the process by conducting a multi-day, on-site User Experience Study which subsequently informed a Program Needs Analysis. Together, these studies were presented to City staff in a two-part design charrette forum in which a series of program elements, facility requirements and budgeting were dovetailed together to provide a basis for the Park Master Plan.
